Translation & Literacy in Western Juxtlahuaca Mixtec Varieties

Translation & Literacy in Western Juxtlahuaca Mixtec Varieties

The Western Juxtlahuaca Mixtec describes a language area on the western edge of the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. It is an area with a linguistic diversity, rich enough to require two distinct Scripture translation and literacy projects. God has motivated people from each of these two areas that are interested in sharing His Word in their language.

Valentín and Ernesto have been working in the variety spoken in and around the town of Coicoyán de las Flores, while Francisco has been working on a version of the translation to reach those around the other main town in the area, San Martín Peras. Gifts to this fund will help them and others continue working on translating God’s Word and teaching others in their communities to read their language.

Thank you for helping make Scriptures available to the Mixtecs in the area of Western Juxtlahuaca.

Help share God's Word today!
